The Dutchess County Bar Association is dedicated to making a difference in the communities it serves. Below are examples of activities designed to help us achieve this goal.

Lawyers in the Classroom
The Dutchess County Bar Association has established a panel of volunteer lawyers who are available as a valuable resource to teachers on many subjects. Lawyers in the Classroom Program volunteers can be utilized in the following ways:

- As resource persons, available to answer general questions
about the law.
- As guest lecturers or discussion leaders.
- As mock trial advisors.
- As courthouse tour guides.
- As a spokesperson on Law Day (May 1).

Regardless of how much you know about the law, your classroom activities can be enriched by arranging for an attorney to speak to your students several times each year.

Lawyers are available for presentations at schools and civic organizations. If your organization is looking for a speaker, please contact the Bar Association at (845) 473-2488.
