Law
Day is an annual observance of the law. Law Day provides an oppurtunity
to reflect on the role of the law in our past, present and future.
In
honor of Law Day, a free legal clinic is held each year. The Dutchess
County Bar Association has hosted this event annually for more than ten
years, serving between 100-200 participants per year. The DCBA was
joined this year for the first time by the Mid-Hudson Women's Bar
Association. Concerns generally addressed include bankruptcy, divorce,
child support, tenants rights and discrimination. Consultations
generally last between 15-20 minutes, depending upon the issues being
